CS INDONESIA: The 35th Priestly Ordination of Scalabrinians in Indonesia

Maumere, Indonesia – October 21, 2024


With joy and gratitude, the congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles-Scalabrinians welcomes Fr. Marius Rewa, CS, as the 35th Scalabrinian priest from Indonesia to the Scalabrinian family.





Fr. Marius was ordained to the priesthood on October 20, 2024, at 9 AM, through the laying on of hands by Most Rev. Ewaldus Martinus Sedu, D.D., Bishop of Maumere. The ceremony took place at the Scalabrini Philosophy Seminary in Nita-Maumere, attended by many Scalabrinian priests coming from different countries, especially, Fr. Leonilo Mantilla, CS, Provincial Councilor; Fr. Yosef Albertman Sadipun, Rector of the Seminary, many priests from different dioceses and religious orders, religious sisters, around 80 Scalabrinian seminarians and around 200 guests from various places, along with the family and relatives of Rev. Marius.

This ordination not only marks a significant milestone as the 35th priestly ordination of Scalabrinians in Indonesia, but also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Scalabrinian presence in Indonesia, highlighting the congregation’s presence and commitment in this beautiful country.


Rev. Fr. Marius is assigned to Province of St. Frances X. Cabrini. After his vacation with his family, he will go to Batam to become the assistant parish priest for the pastoral care in the parish and the migrants.





May God bless our newly ordained priest, Fr. Marius Rewa, CS and make him good shepherd for the people of God, especially the migrants.
