MANILA, August 16, 2024
On August 15, 2024, Scalabrinian family gathered together at the Scalabrini Theological House of Studies, New Manila, Q.C. to joyfully celebrate the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This solemnity, marking the assumption of Mary into heaven, was a profound occasion for reflection on her role as a model of faith and dedication.

In addition to this sacred celebration, there were fifteen Scalabrinain brothers renewed their religious vows and their committement to God. As the represetative of congregation, Fr. Leo Bobila, CS recieved their renewal of vows.

In this occasion, Fr. Leo, the Rector of Scalabrini Theological House and local superior of the Theological community, also commemorated his 25th anniversary of priesthood. His journey of faith and service over a quarter-century is an inspiring testament to his dedication and love for the Church.

Simultaneously, another Scalabrinian brother, Peter Cuu, renewed his religious vows in Indonesia, symbolizing the unity and global nature of our Scalabrinian family. This parallel renewal underscored the shared commitment and spirit that binds us all together in our vocation.

Following the celebration, we gathered for a simple yet heartfelt sharing that echoed the warmth of a Scalabrinian family gathering. The sense of community and mutual support was visible as we exchanged stories and experiences, deepening our bonds as brothers and sisters in faith. The day was not only a celebration of Mary’s Assumption and the renewal of vows but also a reminder of the communal spirit and shared mission that define our Scalabrinian life.
May Mother Mary be companion with all Scalabrinan missionaries in the journey leading all migrants to the heavenly home always. Amen
