CS INDONESIA: THE PRIESTLY ORDINATION OF REV. ALOISIUS ALBERT, CS IN INDONESIA.

MAUMERE, Flores, November 21, 2023. The ordination of Reverend Aloisius Albert, CS was officiated by the Most Reverend Edwaldus Sedu, Pr., the Local Ordinary of the Diocese of Maumere on November 21, 2023 at the Biara Scalabrinian seminary compound in Nita, Maumere, Flores island, Indonesia. The celebrations began at 5:00 PM, local time. Reverend Aloisius' mother, Maria Jacinta and his eldest brother led his family in the celebrations. The local Scalabrinian family was led by Fr. Yosef Albertman Sadipun, CS, the rector of the seminary as well as the confreres serving in the same locality. Fr. Miguel De Araujo Bestias, CS, represented the local community of Ruteng in the celebrations.


Fr. Leo Blaya Bobila, CS, represented both the SFCP and STHS. He read the message of the Provincial Superior and announced the first missionary assignment of the newly ordained priest as it is the custom of the place during such occasions. The ordination Mass was attended by more than 300 persons from Fr. Albert's place, the neighbors, friends and the seminarians. The choir was composed of 80 persons from three different BECs (Basic Ecclesial Communities) of his parish while the altar servers were from the CS philosophy seminary. His local parish priest, religious and diocesan clergy as well as some representatives of the religious communities in Maumere, which included the MSCS, also graced the celebrations. Fr. Aloisius Albert, CS is the 31st confrere from Indonesia ordained since the CS began their presence in the country in 2002. Fr. Albert is the second priest confrere from the town of Maumere. He is assigned to the Saint Charles Borromeo Province particularly to the St. Joseph Parish in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
